2012 Vinnies CEO Sleepout

There are more than 100,000 Australians who sleep rough each night of the year. Just under half of these are women; a quarter of these are under the age of 18.
On Thursday 21 June 2012 the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout will take place in capital cities across Australia. CEOs and senior business and community leaders are invited to rise to the challenge and experience what it is like to be homeless for one night in winter and help the St Vincent de Paul Society to raise awareness of the real facts of homelessness.
All money raised through the sponsorship of participants goes directly towards the ongoing provision of Vinnies’ homeless services across the country.
In Victoria these funds will assist:

• The ongoing provision of meals to people using our homeless services
• The provision of hot showers, access to clean clothing and blankets and medical, dental and eye care treatment at our homeless services
• The continuation of mental health outreach, housing information and referral, alcohol and drug programs, client volunteer programs, women’s services, general support and educational activities
