On 1 November, the Catholic faithful celebrates the Feast of All Saints day, followed on 2 November with All Souls day. As recorded in the 4 November 1971 edition of The Advocate, “November in the Catholic Church is the month of the Holy Souls, when we are taught by her to turn our thoughts to that ‘after-life’ in which our destinies will be fulfilled’.”
