Renewal of Parish Vestments

Updated Thursday, 16th August 2018
Over the last few years our parishioners have generously devoted much spiritual and financial energy to the restoration and refurbishment of both our churches and many of the sacred items used in our worship of God. These efforts have contributed greatly to the life of our parish and enhanced our encounter with God at Mass. We are now seeking to take these efforts one step further by renewing our parish's vestment collection.

We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm with which you have contributed to the Vestment Renewal Project. As of the 16/8/2018, 70% of the total cost has been covered, including the cost of all the Sunday vestments for both churches! We are immensely grateful for your generosity. If you would still like to contribute, we encourage you to do so quickly so as not to miss the opportunity.

Your donations are welcome towards the following remaining items:

    • 12 Weekday Chasubles for St Francis Xavier Church ($150 each)
    • 3 Weekday Chasubles for St Clare Church ($150 each)
The best way to donate is to contact the parish office directly. Alternately, you may like to place your donation in a clearly marked envelope (indicating the purpose of the donation, the amount, and the donor's contact information) and place it in the collection at Mass.
We expect delivery of the new vestments in mid to late September. Once they have arrived and their costs have been covered, they will be blessed at Mass and made available for use by our priests.
Please note: following feedback from parishioners, we have decided to adjust the manner in which donors to the Vestment Renewal will be recognised. Instead of publicly displaying the individual names of donors, we will only publicly display a general plaque in each church, indicating that the vestments have been donated through the generosity of the parishioners. Individual donors will be recognised with a personal letter of thanks from our priests, Parish Pastoral Council, and Parish Finance Committee
May the realisation of this project enable us to better love and worship God, that we may better love and serve our neighbour.
