2018 Liturgical Formation Dates

In his exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, Pope Francis describes the parish as “an environment for hearing God’s word, for growth in the Christian life, for dialogue, proclamation, charitable outreach, worship and celebration ... the parish encourages and trains its members to be evangelisers.” To support parishes in this mission, the Archbishop’s Office for Evangelisation (AOFE) is offering the following workshops for liturgy teams, parish groups and all those serving or interested in parish ministry.

“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”  --Teresa of Avila

Ministers of Communion to the Sick (i.e. the frail, the housebound and those in temporary or residential care) represent both Christ and the local faith community. This workshop explores the spiritual, liturgical and pastoral dimensions of the ministry for anyone engaged in this vital service of pastoral care and outreach. It is ideal for parish volunteers seeking refreshment formation, those interested in joining the ministry and anyone currently working in the pastoral chaplaincy field.
