A Special Request from Susan Ryan to Parishioners

Do you have any items to contribute to our play-based learning facilities?

Dear Parishioners

I've been in the fortunate position of having many members of the community ask me how they can help in setting up our school. If you follow the Lisieux Facebook page or Instagram account you will know that I put out a call for local carpenters to assist with playground construction - thank you so much to those who volunteered! I'm thrilled with the response.

Here are some further ways community members can get behind us. As we prepare to transition into The Carmel Centre, our Temporary Junior School, next term, we will gladly accept donations of the following to support our play-based learning:

·         Natural materials such as small pine cones, leaves, gum nuts, shells.
·         If anyone has larger rocks, tree logs, wooden cable reels, sleepers they would like to relocate, we can make use of them in our garden/playground.
·         Egg cartons, cardboard tubes, ribbon, buttons, bottle tops, corks.
·         China tea sets, vases, sieves, kitchen utensils, cane woven baskets.

I will put some collection crates in the St Therese church foyer early next term.

Finally, we're looking for community members who live on a main thoroughfare who may be amenable to having some signage erected to promote our new school. Please email susan.ryan@lisieux.catholic.edu.au if you can help.

Thanks again to all for your generosity and support with our exciting journey thus far.

Susan Ryan

Ps for those of you who have not yet been able to drive past the site, below are a couple of my rough pictures of the outlook from the hill, and the site works as they progress.
