In Victoria, one of the prerequisites for a young person to receive a licence to drive a car is the completion of a minimum of 120 hours (including at least 10 hours at night) of driving with an experienced driver. Before a person can be accredited to teach in our schools there is need to graduate with a university degree or diploma in education and undergo a significant amount of on-the-job training. But how do we prepare our young people for marriage?

Victorians will also go to the polls in November for our state election. This is the time then to ask ourselves what motivates the way that we vote. The main question for many will be ‘What’s in it for me?’, but it is to be hoped that many more will ask the greater question: ‘Who will govern best in the interest of the common good?’
