The Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) today questioned the inherent integrity of a proposed charter of rights which purports to protect human rights but – if it follows the model of the ACT and Victoria – would explicitly exclude the right to life of a child before birth.

Proposed Charter of Human Rights Print E-mail

20-10-proposed-pg4-tBob Carr, former Premier of New South Wales, has told a group of church leaders in Melbourne recently that he strongly believes the first thing that will happen if a Charter of Human Rights is introduced in Australia is that particular interest groups will challenge the exemptions enjoyed by Churches in state and federal anti-discrimination laws.
