With the approach of Schoolies Week and end-of-year celebrations over 17,000 Catholic Year 12 students across Australia are about to receive the 2008 edition of The Road Ahead, a special publication dealing with end-of-year issues from a Catholic perspective.
A creation of successful Australian Catholic company, CHOICEZ MEDIA, the full colour min-magazine addresses issues such as drugs and alcohol and relationships by merging Catholic teaching with modern design and a youth
friendly approach. It is designed to be a discussion starter and personal reflection tool in the lead up to the end-of-year party scene and the unfortunate consequences it can bring about in the lives of many young people.
Choicez Media founder, Jonathan Doyle states, “We have been overwhelmed by the uptake of this publication. It obviously fills a very real need that Principals and Religious Education Coordinators have identified.
"World Youth Day highlighted the hunger of so many young people for an authentic Catholic voice on the issues that are most pressing for them. A culture that trivializes sex and relationships and normalizes drug and alcohol abuse for young people will never meet the true needs of the heart and we wanted to touch on that in The Road Ahead.”
The initiative has been supported by Catholic Education Offices across the country in an effort to make a real difference in the lives of graduating students Samples of the publication can be viewed online at:
