Dear Young People book coverThursday 21 August 2008

Exactly one month has passed since Pope Benedict XVI celebrated the World Youth Day Mass at Randwick racecourse. To mark the occasion, Dear Young People, a collection of all of the sermons and addresses given by Pope Benedict XVI during his visit to Australia, was published in Sydney yesterday.

The Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pell visited the Strathfield offices of the publishers, St Pauls Publications, to receive the first copy of the book.

Commending the publication, he said that the Holy Father’s words to the young people who came to Sydney for World Youth Day and his words to the Australian people will serve as an enduring source of inspiration and reflection for those who read them. He was delighted that they are now available in a handy, inexpensive volume.

Dear Young People contains 96 pages of text and 8 pages of colour photos. It sells for $12.95. Copies can beobtained from religious book centres. For more information contact St Pauls Publications www.stpauls.com.au.

In other news WYD08 will release a beautiful hardcover souvenir book of the Papal visit and World Youth Day towards the end of the year. It will contain many colour photos, the words of the Holy Father and other key addresses, as well as a record of the events that took place during the World Youth Day week.

People can register their interest for this commemorative book on the official WYD08 website at www.WYD2008.org.
