Teresa Bourke
Theresa Burke, founder of Rachel's Vineyard Ministries USA, visited Australia in September 2007. Theresa has more than 20 years experience as an academic and practitioner in healing post-abortion trauma. "Certainly, not all women experience emotional problems following induced abortion," she said. “However an alarming amount of evidence has accumulated showing that, for some women, abortion is responsible for a broad array of deep psychological and emotional disturbances." Her visit to Australia was to promote Rachel’s Vineyard healing retreats in capital cities for men and women who experience pain and stress after an abortion, and was sponsored by the Respect Life Office (now the Life Marriage and Family Office).
