Even though some restrictions have been lifted for places of worship, St Bernadette’s Parish
has decided to remain closed until further notice. This decision has been made for a number of
reasons, with the major one being the current health of our Priests. Fr John
has dealt with a heart attack in early May, and therefore is susceptible to
become more unwell if exposed to large groups of people. Fr Denis is also at a
vulnerable age during this time.
We understand that this
is a trying time for all of our parishioners, however the past few months have taught
us a valuable lesson.
We can continue to practise our faith with the Church doors closed.
Prayer, acts of
kindness, reading the scripture and being of service to those around us can all
continue and are essential to who we are as a Catholic community.

The Word on Fire (US)
CathFamily is a web site dedicated to assisting families in making the home the living heart of the church. As a church, we have benefited over the centuries from simple home-based rituals to provide practical faith experiences for our children. This site aims to provide innovative and contemporary resources to continue this tradition—by collecting both traditional and contemporary rituals that Catholic families can adapt into their own family rituals.
CatholicCare provides support to people at every stage of their lives to equip them with the skills that they need to build strong, positive relationships. For more information on the services that they provide visit their website.
