REACHOUT

ReachOut strives for a vibrant and Spirit-filled parish, with the belief that it is not enough to just attend Mass once a week and then go our separate ways. Parishioners are organised into small cell groups which meet on a regular basis in members’ homes. Meeting regularly in small groups gives fellow parishioners the opportunity to grow together socially as well as spiritually. These small groups are also well placed to invite neighbours and friends, perhaps lapsed or former Catholics, to join in the regular meetings.
The small groups are flexible in terms of when and how often they meet. Most meet about once a month, using the materials provided by the parish to conduct the meetings. About once a quarter, a few small groups will get together at one of the members’ home for a Home Mass, celebrated by either Fr. Pat or Fr. Ralph. At present, there are 11 ReachOut Groups and all are welcome to join one of the groups or form new groups.

ST CHRISTOPHER’S TENNIS CLUB

St Christopher’s Tennis Club was founded in 1967 with opportunities for competitive and social tennis through the year. For over 40 years, many teams have represented the club, providing enjoyment and considerable success as can be seen from the many pennants on display in the clubhouse. The club has three excellent en-tout-cas courts at the far north end of the parish property behind the Hennessey Hall.

Organised social tennis is available from 9.30am on Tuesdays, from 7:30 pm (under lights) on Wednesdays (modest cost to cover lights) and from 2.00 pm on most Saturdays. Monthly social round robins are held, usually on the first Sunday of each month, commencing at 1.30pm. Club Championships are held in April.

New members are always welcome. There are four membership categories:
  • Senior members
  • Family members (1 or 2 seniors and 1 or more juniors)
  • Junior members (under 18 years)
  • Student members (over 18 years in full time study)

For membership fees, please contact the club. The club’s financial year runs from 1 July to 30 June. New members joining during the financial year pay pro rata for the remaining months of the year.
