T@P NOVEMBER: FR. MORGAN BATT
most pleased to announce that Fr Morgan Batt will be joining us for our
November edition of Theology at the Pub!
Fr Morgan's journey has been one of many experiences and challenges, and he
uses his life story to inspire people of all ages to embrace everything life
has to offer and to live it with wisdom, faith and passion.
Ordained in 1991, Fr Morgan was the parish priest to Port Arthur
at the time of the 1996 massacre. In 2002, he became a chaplain in the
Australian Army serving both domestically and abroad in the Middle East and
East Timor. In 2010, Fr Morgan was appointed to the University of Queensland
and now serves in the Archdiocese of Brisbane as the Director of Vocations and
Canali House (a place of discernment for young men), as well as Director of
Pastoral Formation at Holy Spirit Provincial Seminary. In addition to his
seminary studies, Fr Morgan has also studied in Spain, Belgium, Palestine and
the United States. When he gets the chance, Fr Morgan is a passionate
mountaineer, and has a life goal of climbing the highest peak of every country.
So far, he has climbed well over 200 peaks and has celebrated the highest mass
in the world, on Mount Everest.
