The Australian Bishops have identified the liturgical year of 2018, beginning on the first Sunday of Advent (3rd December 2017), as a national Year of Youth.
The Year of Youth invites the church into dialogue about the importance and life-giving presence of young people in the Church and society. It calls for dialogue and active engagement focused on the reconnection and renewal of a new generation of young people in the life of the Church.

Youth Ministry Partnership Program
As the Australian church approaches the Year of Youth in 2018, the whole church is invited to welcome new opportunities for sharing the joy of faith with young people. Supporting vibrant youth ministries is one way parishes can reach out to the young people in their community.
The Youth Ministry Partnership Program is a 14-month volunteer or employment placement linking youth ministry coordinators to parishes, supported all the way through by the Archdiocesan Office for Youth. It is for parishes who are looking for the right person to initiate youth ministry in their community, and it is for young emerging leaders who feel called to serve young people in a parish setting.
