What is Six30 Holy Hour?

For more than 10 years now, young men and women have gathered every week for an hour of prayer and adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Six30 Holy Hour is a chance to pray and to meet other young people from around Melbourne while listening to beautiful music and great homilies. There is also the opportunity to go to Confession.

What is Adoration?

Through the miracle that happens in every Mass, Catholics believe that Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament; that is, physically present every time we pray in a Catholic church. So when we place the Blessed Sacrament in a monstrance on the altar, we can bring to Jesus all of our needs and hopes. We can thank Him for all the good things in our lives, and ask for His help and comfort for all the bad things. Most importantly, we believe that Jesus loves us and He just wants us to be close to Him.

When and where is it held?

Six30 Holy Hour is held every Thursday night from 6.30pm−7.30pm at St Patrick’s Cathedral in East Melbourne. Entry is via the carpark on Lansdowne Street. Follow the red line on the map below.

Latest Update

Thursday 28th February, we encourage as many young people as possible to come and join Six30 to unite in prayer for Pope Benedict XVI
on the last day of his pontificate.

Also note that there is no Six30 Holy Hour in the Cathedral on Holy Thursday 28 March.
