In July 2012 the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne implemented the Workplace Giving Program to encourage staff to participate collectively in giving to the Catholic Community Agencies supported by the Archdiocese. Workplace Giving enhances a culture of giving and provides a simple and effective method for staff of the Archdiocese to make a regular and collective contribution. Our Workplace Giving Program strengthens communities, improves lives of people who need help and provide them with positive opportunities.

How to participate
All staff members who are paid through the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne and are employed on a permanent, part-time or fixed term appointment are eligible to participate in the Workplace Giving Program.
The Workplace Giving Program is set up so that donations can be easily made through the payroll system directly from salaries. To be part of the journey and engage with colleagues, complete, sign and submit the Employee Workplace Giving Authority Form to Human Resources. Donations can be ceased with 30 days notice by advising Human Resources at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Employee Workplace Giving Authority Form will also be available online for your convenience.
Once you are part of this worthwhile Program, you will be kept informed of the progress and we will celebrate our successes.
How can staff contribute?
Every gift counts regardless of the amount. Donations as little as $4 per pay period can be automatically deducted and directed to one or more of the nominated agencies. Donations will be facilitated as reductions in the pay as you go amounts withheld from your pay so that you receive the tax benefit immediately. In order for the tax benefit to be reflected correctly when you lodge your income Tax Return, you must disclose the donation when you submit your Tax Return under Gifts and Donations.
Payroll deduction is easy, affordable and tax effective. It eliminates the need to collect receipts (your payslip record is your receipt), which helps us reduce costs. A record of your contributions will also be provided on your annual Payment Summary which you will receive in July each year.
There are no administration fees taken from contributions. 100% of the gift will be transferred directly to the Catholic Community Agency (or Agencies) nominated by you.
Information and Privacy
The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne collects and uses your information for the purposes of processing your donation request and informing you about our activities in supporting our Agencies and pastoral activities of the Archdiocese. We do not disclose your information to any third party except with your consent or if required by law.
