Details for the Melbourne Pilgrimage Commissioning Event

All ACYF Melbourne participants, family and friends are invited to join us for the Melbourne Commissioning Event which will happen in two parts:

Local Blessing
Pilgrims will be invited to join their local parish Mass to receive a blessing from their parish community. The ACYF team will supply the parish's with a blessing. If your local parish is unable to participate, you can nominate a nearby parish which has been identified as a hub parish for ACYF pilgrims and receive your blessing there. In order for us to deliver your commissioning items to your parish or local hub, it is essential that you to RSVP for the day. After the local blessing you are then asked to grab some lunch before heading into the city for part two of the day.

If you are an individual MCG pilgrim, we ask that you register via THIS link

If you are a Group Coordinator who is registering their group, please use THIS link

Central Commissioning
All pilgrims and their families, friends and supporters are to be gathered at St Augustine's Church in Bourke Street by 1.30pm where a pilgrimage walk to St Patrick’s Cathedral will begin. Once arrived at St Patrick's, Archbishop Peter A. Comensoli will lead us in prayer and commission the Melbourne ACYF pilgrims attending the Festival. Following the Commissioning Liturgy, leaders, pilgrims and their families will be invited to enjoy festivities in the grounds of St Patrick’s Cathedral. Food will be available for a donation and there will be live music until 4.30pm.

Financial subsidy applications for Melbourne ACYF pilgrims have now closed

We have had an overwhelming response to our invitation to apply for financial subsidies towards Melbourne ACYF pilgrim registration. It is wonderful to see how much interest there is for participating in this pilgrimage! Unfortunately, at this time, we have exhausted all available subsidies and therefore have closed applications.
