Quite a number of non catholic parents request baptism for their child, particularly if the child is in a catholic school. Sometimes this enquiry comes even if a child is in a state school. We welcome both enquiries with warmth.
Please be aware that where neither parent is a baptised catholic, we usually delay baptism of the child until such time as at least one parent has participated in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Please use this form to make the initial contact and we will get back to you ASAP to give you further information about the need for parents to be able to support a child in faith, and to offer you an opportunity to learn more through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. A proposed date for the child's baptism can only be considered after the RCIA.
