What a great day!  The weather forecast stayed true and we enjoyed a summer's like day for the 2018 Strawberry Fair.  There was a steady crowd throughout the day and it was great to see the children having a wonderful time at the fair.  It is always a highlight to see our current & past school families and Parish community come together and make this day happen.   Thank you goes to all including:

The Strawberry Fair Committee: to all member of the committee for months you worked on a plan and slowly but surely executed this plan to ensure the day was a great success.  You are a committed group who highly value community spirit.  Working in a clam and balanced manner and never losing sight of the focus!

The Parish: to all parishioners who were involved on the committee and coordinating and working on stalls. A big thank you to the active members of the Parish community who continue to give so generously of their time to our community.

The Stall Holders:  You spent hours prior to the day and then hours of work on the day to make your stalls a hue success.  You did an amazing job organising people to man your stalls.  Thank you for your commitment.

The  Workers:  Many parishioners & families helped out in various capacities including set up, pack up, working on a stall or counting/ collecting money etc.  The day cannot happen without your contribution and generosity of your time.  We are lucky to have a community that is so willing to get behind events like this.

The Staff:  The school staff worked hard in the back car park co-ordinating slap bands and selling ride tickets.  To have so many staff members give their time up on Saturday reflect their level of commitment to our school and community.

Last Sunday the parish bid farewell to a lovely bunch of our grade 6 students.  The years have flown and soon they set sail for new horizons.  We are proud of them and wish them well!  At children’s liturgy we focused on Abraham, our father in faith , who trusting in God, left his home and set off into the

unknown.  It was a very long journey, God was with him all the way and He fulfilled His promise to Abraham leading him to the promised land and making his descendants as many as the stars in the sky.  We all sang and marched with ‘Father Abraham’ to the promised land. The inclement weather meant we ate lunch indoors but a good time was had by all who attended.  Thanks to

everyone who came and helped make it such a happy day!

  REPORT: Year 3&4 Special Mass

At mass last Sunday we welcomed the Grade 3&4 classes and their families. It was a wonderful occasion- the church vibrating with the kinetic energy of so many children –this was particularly evident at the children’s liturgy where energy levels increased as they played “Let me be your servant” and took turns to serve each other a chocolate treat.  The children had fun as they learnt that God wants them to think of the needs of others before their own, as Jesus showed us.  Then they will be truly great. Hopefully their mum or dad will have received the gift of a scroll entitling them to an act of loving service!  Mass was followed by a yummy morning tea which the children helped to serve.  Thanks to everyone who helped to make it such a happy day!
