Who can attend?

The Festival is for young people from year 9 - 30 years of age (as at December 2017). All participants under 18 need to be accompanied by adults. Group leaders can be of any age.

Who is organising the Festival?

The Festival is organised by a Steering Committee, and is overseen by the Australian Catholic Bishop’s Conference Office for Youth.

What happens at the Festival?

The Australian Catholic Youth Festival is a national gathering of Catholic young people. It exists to provide young people with opportunities to deepen their relationship with Jesus, be empowered to be disciples in the world today and encounter and celebrate the vitality of the Church in Australia. This is achieved through a number of large gatherings, workshops, liturgies; prayer experiences an expo and the festival atmosphere.

How much will it cost to attend?

Registration for those from Melbourne will cost cost around $250 with prices to be finalised soon. Participants will also need to organise transport and accommodation. Stay tuned to the AOY as we look into options for ACYF Perth.

How do I register?

Registration will open later in 2019

Who can I go with?

If you would like to attend the youth Festival, ask whether your parish, youth group, community or school is planning to send a group. Start fundraising early and stay tuned to see what options the AOY makes available.

Can I volunteer?

The Festival will be looking for volunteers to help with the event. For more details, visit www.youthfestival.catholic.org.au in the coming months. Volunteers will be required to comply with the Festival policy which includes completing a number of checks.  You may also like to consider volunteering to take a group of young people from your local area or assisting as a leader of a local group who is attending.
