Called and Sent Camp 2017

The Archdiocesan Office for Youth has just recently conducted a camp designed to develop the foundations in youth ministry for new leaders.
Dubbed ‘Called and Sent’, the camp was held beachside at Don Bosco camp in Dromana.
Almost 30 leaders from ten different parish communities attended this Archdiocesan first foundations camp for new youth ministers. At ‘Called and Sent’ these new leaders reflected on the foundations of discipleship and the Australian church’s vision for youth ministry (with a few youth ministry staples like dramas, small groups, testimonies and games thrown in the mix!).
Fr Chris Ryan MGL and Fr Paul Newton presented, alongside the AOY team, helping leaders discern their mission and the year ahead with new skills and energy. As they were at pains to point out, getting started in youth ministry takes a love for Jesus, a love for young people, and a solid foundation in the church’s mission to evangelise.
The new leaders return to their communities with a gratitude for their call to youth ministry and energised for the mission they have been sent into.
We send them on their way in confidence and with our total blessing!
