200+ Gather for AOY Soccer Comp

On Sunday the Archdiocesan Office for Youth held its annual Soccer Competition. It was a great event with over 200 young people from different youth groups and movements across Melbourne coming along for a chance to win the title of AOY 2017 Soccer Premiers. There was a great atmosphere of comradery and good sportsmanship. The competition was fierce and out of the 24 teams that competed it came down to an all Salesians final. After working their way through a five match round robin they breezed through the top 16, quarter finals and semi-finals until it was Salesian city vs Salesians United for the finals. Salesians United just managed to come out on top. The juniors also had a great competition; Fr Michael Kong’s Greater Box Hill managed to snatch a win from runners up Penola. A big thank you to everyone who came along and made the Soccer Comp such a great event.
