LEAD 2018: Building a Culture of Leadership

LEAD 2018 will be held on Saturday 21 July.
LEAD Workshop Day equips people working or volunteering in youth ministry with skills and training to effectively evangelise young people. All youth ministry leaders are welcome to attend for a full day of keynote presentations, workshop options for entry level and experienced youth ministers and networking opportunities. Online registration is essential closing 12 July.
Keynote speaker: Fr Christian Fini OMI
Creating a culture of leadership: inspiring, challenging and developing leaders. The culture of your youth group can affect your ability to run a fun and sustainable group. How do you build leadership and encourage your youth? Fr Fini will explore ways to inspire, challenge and develop your leadership team
Workshops include:
1. Self-care
Youth ministry can be a tough field of work. There can be a lot of obstacles and challenges that can be very emotionally and physically draining. This workshop is going to look at strategies and techniques around self-care.

2. Navigating media + Tech and relationships
Youth are constantly engaged with digital media. This can warp their perspective of the world and affect how they build relationships. This session explores the methods media use to manipulate thinking and encourages students to recognise it impact.

3. Project and event planning
This workshop gives you the tools to be able to accomplish projects from the early planning stages through to completion. Learn the tools to be able to effectively manage and archive deadlines when running an event. 
4. Child Safety
Feeling overwhelmed with current child safety laws and policies? In today’s world understanding best ways to protect children is essential. This workshop will break down the current policies into understandable and manageable requirements, through an interactive scenario based workshop.

5. Intro to Alpha
Have you heard of The Alpha Course? Want to take your ministry in a new direction? Explore what Alpha has to offer while getting insights into effective ways of incorporating set programs into your youth ministry.

6. Structures for sustainability
This workshop will build on the keynote presentations, looking at some practical examples of structures and systems that can be put in place to create a more sustainable and enticing youth ministry.
